One of Dallas’s most up-and-coming neighborhoods is Victory Park, a master planned community anchored around American Airlines Center, the home of the Dallas Stars of the NHL and the Dallas Mavericks of the NBA, and acting as host to numerous other events. The venue offers guests professional hockey and basketball, concerts, pro-wrestling and UFC bouts, which can make it hard to find American Airlines Center parking if you don’t book in advance with BestParking. Victory Park was envisioned by businessman Ross Perot, Jr. as a master planned community, centered around the new American Airlines Center, which opened in 2001. The primary entrance to the stadium is the Athena Tacha-designed PNC Plaza with its distinctive three large stars built into the sidewalk. In addition to hosting the championship-winning Dallas Stars and Dallas Mavericks, the venue has been the site of concerts by many popular artists, including Beyonce, Elton John, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Bruno Mars, Madonna, P!nk, Justin Timberlake, Eric Clapton, Phil Collins, Lady Gaga, Lorde, Bon Jovi, Niall Horan, The Chainsmokers, Kesha, Don Henley, Halsey, Green Day, Tom Petty, Twenty One Pilots the Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Cure, among many others. Other events hosted at “The Hangar” include the PBR Built Ford Tough Series bull riding shows in 2005 and 2009, the Big 12 NCAA Basketball Tournaments in 2003-04 and 2006, UFC events, the National Hockey League All-Star Game, WWE wrestling, gymnastics and even a bowling tournament. The venue even had a cameo in a Simpsons episode under the pseudonym “Dallas Arena”. With the venue home to so many events plus two major league teams, it can be difficult to find Dallas Mavericks or Stars parking, so it makes sense to book an American Airlines Center parking space ahead of time with BestParking.
